Adam Barsby has built up a huge worldwide following in the last five years. Over this time he has continually sought out new challenges and his army of fans have derived great pleasure from watching his uniquely lyrical style develop.
Born in Leicester in 1969 Adam showed an early artistic talent which
would eventually lead him to graduate from Kent Institute of Art and
Design in Maidstone with a First Class Honours Degree.
Following his graduation in 1992 Adam worked on several freelance
projects for Art Galleries and magazines whilst developing his own
style of work. In 1996 Adam decided to commit himself to painting on a
full time basis. His confidence was soon rewarded by invitations to
exhibit at many prestigious galleries throughout the UK and the highly
successful launch of his range of limited editions and original
silkscreen prints. Adam's first major London Exhibition was held at
Harrod's Picture Gallery in June 1998. Not only was it enjoyed by a
large number of specially invited guests but the show was a resounding
success.
Adam draws his inspiration from many sources, oceans and coastlines
being particularly appealing due to their romantic nature. His unique
view of the world, his simple stylised images using rich colours,
texture and thought provoking narratives, continue to take the art
world by storm.
This young artist's tremendous talent has gained him the prestigious
John Solomon Trophy for Best Selling Artist of 1998 followed by the
accolade of Best Up And Coming Artist for 1999 by the Fine Art Trade
Guild.
